DeeCon mascot character design

A character I designed for DeeCon 2022 - Scottish anime and gaming convention held in Dundee. The character is a redesign of the previous DeeCon's mascot, Solarmander.
I started of by doing some brainstorming sketches, thinking how can I redesign the character to keep its features but give it a fresh, cartoony look and appeal. After getting the feedback from other students, I went on to do some exploration sketches and define the body features. The final version of the character will appear on DeeCon T-shirts as well as social media posts.
